Eagles International P-51B

Flight Journal, Dec 2004

Especially for die-cast collectors, the first release in the Eagles International series of l:48-scale die-cast aircraft is Capt. Don Gentile's P-51B Shangri-La. There are many versions of the D model in several scales already on the market, but Eagles has seized the opportunity to faithfully reproduce the early "birdcage" version.

Among the innovative touches are magnetic fastening and a beautifully detailed cockpit. The Merlin fits snugly in the classic cowl, and the aircraft's overall shape is very accurate. It's painted in matte olive drab and shows the red-and-white checkered scheme and the Eagle Squadron logo. Display your Mustang on a stand with the gear up or down.

There's a pilot figure and movable flaps, and there's an optional ordnance load.
