NATO TIGER MEET

Flight Journal,  Feb 2005  by Attrill, Mark P

THE NATO TIGERS AGAIN ROAMED OVER NORTHERN GERMANY during their most recent gathering hosted by AG-51 Immelmann Wing at Schleswig-Jagel. The Tigers provided a complete "Order of Battle" for the exercise, and most participants turned out one specially painted aircraft in true Tiger tradition.

The New Jersey ANG Tigers from McGuire AFB returned with one of their KC-135Es, as did the F/A-18Cs of 11 Fliegerstaffel, Swiss Air Force, who participated for only the second time in a full NATO Tiger Meet under the Partnership for Peace program. Most core members from Belgium, France and Germany took part and were joined by Mirage F.1Ms from 142 Escuadron/14 Ala of the Ejercito del Aire (EdA), which participated in the operational phase after a long absence. The rotarywing presence was down over previous years; only the 231 Squadron of the Czech Air Force flying Mi-24 Hind Vs was available.
