LIBERTY BELLE FLIES AT LAST

Flight Journal, Apr 2005 by Budde-Jones, K T

WARBIRD ADVENTURES INC. welcomed the B-17 back into the skies. On December 8, 2004, the 13th airworthy B-17 took flight after a 14-year restoration in Kissimmee, Florida. The B-17G, Liberty Belle, is Don Brooks' tribute to all the men who flew in WW II and was inspired by his father's contributions in the 8th Air Force.

Liberty Belle's first attempts at flight on December 7 were thwarted by electrical issues, but it successfully flew the next day and was accompanied by Syd Jones (conservator for Tom Reilly on the B-17 project) in his T-6 and Thorn Richard in Warbird Adventure's SNJ.
