Doe v. Roe Law Firm, Ala., Jefferson County Cir. Ct., No. CV 99-7128, Nov. 15, 2000.
Doe, an attorney, had a verbal agreement with Roe Law Firm that she would be compensated for any case referrals at the conclusion of the cases. Doe referred four federal cases to Roe that eventually settled. Roe did not pay Doe the requisite referral fees under the agreement.
Doe sued Roe, alleging it committed fraud by not paying the fees.
A jury awarded plaintiff $90,000.
