ROMANIAN FARMAN

Air Classics, Mar 2004 by Ungureanu, Calin

A friend recently gave me a copy of V39/N2 which included the article "Down Over the Trenches" which includes a photograph (reproduced here) of what I believe is a Farman Pusher with the SISU on the nose section. The personnel are Romanian officers dressed in French-style uniforms.

The name is pronounced in Romanian as "shishu" and means a dagger manufactured by jail prisoners! Personally, I think the name is inappropriate for this type of aircraft and probably was a nickname for one of the crew members.
