AERO TRADER UPDATE

Air Classics,  Apr 2004  by O'Leary, Michael

One long-term restoration makes significant progress while another vintage aircraft is under repair

At Aero Trader, Chino, California, significant progress has been made on Kermit Weeks' Douglas A-26C Invader. As readers know, this machine received heavy damage during Hurricane Andrew. "The plane is now on its gear and we are in the process of installing many of the interior components which had been restored previously," states Carl Scholl. When completed, this will be the only flying Invader to feature all its original equipment in operating condition. A new addition at Aero Trader is a Ryan PT-2 2 operated by the 3rd Pursuit Group of the Commemorative Air Force based at nearby Cable Claremont Airport. The plane had been damaged in a forced landing and was trucked to Aero Trader for rebuild.
