ROBERT L. SCOTT

Air Classics,  May 2006

Passing of a hero

Brigadier General Robert L. Scott died at age 97 in Georgia on 27 February. Scott, who became famous for his book God Is My Co-Pilot (which was also made into a feature film), was instrumental in the Middle Georgia Museum of Aviation at Warner Robins. Scott, who scored 22 victories during WWlI, came to the museum in the mid-1980s. At that time he was a widower and the museum requested a photo of himself for display. Scott was living in Arizona and he had a photo that was to big to mail so he drove to the museum and delivered it personally. He was struck by the museum and moved to Georgia where he did a great deal to help make the museum what it is today.
