Connecticut United for Research Excellence, Inc. (CURE) to receive national award for medical research advocacy

Connecticut United for Research Excellence, Inc. (CURE) is being recognized by Research! America as an Organization that has Distinguished itself by its Advocacy. The statewide coalition of education and research institutions, health related corporations, health care systems, professional societies, supporting organizations and voluntary health organizations has helped shape a collective voice for biomedical research.

CURE, led by chair Dorothy Gallagher, PhD and president Debra Pasquale, promotes the process and benefits of medical research to diverse audiences and has become the recognized resource for information on biomedicine within the state. CURE's comprehensive approach to the goal of promoting the benefits of medical research ranges from the development of curriculum programs for students to community briefings. "CURE is honored to have been selected as the first recipient of the award as an Organization that has Distinguished Itself by its Advocacy. We realize that this recognition demands that we raise our collective voice of support for biomedical research just a little more and we welcome the opportunity and the challenge," says Pasquale.
