Nominate an Outstanding Nurse for One of Connecticut's Most Prestigious Nursing Honors: The Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing

Connecticut Nursing News, Mar-May 2005

On May 5th, 2005, the fifth annual Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing will be presented. We invite you to recognize outstanding nurses within your own organization by sponsoring them for Nightingale Award recognition.

The Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing program was developed by the VNA of South Central Connecticut as a collaborative effort to celebrate outstanding nurses and elevate the nursing profession. The goals of the program are to encourage retention, inspire future nurses, focus public attention and recognize the breadth and scope of nursing practice at the local level.

In 2003, the program grew to include Galas in the Hartford, Norwich-New London, and Greenwich regions, as well as the original program in New Haven. The program is open and inclusive of all health care settings-hospitals, home health care, health centers, schools, health departments, long-term care, nursing schools, agencies and medical practices-all are warmly invited to participate.

Hurry, nomination forms are due on March 25th. To receive a nomination packet or for more details about the gala, please contact your local Nightingale gala coordinator:
