Connecticut Nursing News, Jun-Aug 2006

Marie Hilliard, RN, PhD recently left her position as Executive Director of the Connecticut Catholic Conference to join the National Catholic Bioethics Center as the Director of Bioethics and Public Policy. Hilliard has served the nursing community in Connecticut as executive officer of the state Board of Examiners for Nursing, trustee of the Connecticut Nurses' Foundation and most recently as president of the Connecticut League for Nursing. As a longtime member of Connecticut Nurses' Association, she has brought her experience and skills to efforts to promote patient safety and advance the practice.

Hilliard's military background has also distinguished her nursing leadership. She is a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve, She developed a model for licensed practical nursing for military medics which led to her receiving the Meritorious Service Medal.

The board and staff of the Connecticut Nurses' Association wishes her Godspeed in her new professional journey and our heartfelt thanks for her work in Connecticut.

Kimberly Sandor, MSN, FNP recently completed the National Training Institute training for Child Care Health Consultation. Sandor is the coordinator for the Healthy Child Care Connecticut/CT Nurses' Association Medication Administration Program and also the coordinator for Child Care Health Consultants.
