Learning is a social activity and one of the most effective ways of learning is getting information from peers. However, the medical students partly stay away from their peers during their training at the clinics, and they stay around the instructors, of whom they could not always ask questions directly. Considering that students mostly used the Internet as a personal communications means, the importance of setting up communications media for medical students over the Internet should be better understood. Such media shall help students communicate with and learn from each other.14

In conclusion, computers and the Internet hold an essential place in the medical world despite some problems and their place will grow larger each day in the lives of medical students and doctors. To enable the medical students and doctors to use computers and the Internet efficiently, interactive World Wide Web sites, e-mail groups, discussion media of medical content, and computer software suitable for self-directed studies should be developed.
