Bylaws changes

Arizona Nurse,  Nov 1999

Members of the association adopted a number of amendments to the AzNA Bylaws. All of the proposed amendments were adopted with four exceptions:

1. The composition of the Board of Directors (Art. IV. Section 2.a.2) was amended to read there shall be six directors who represent the diversity of the profession elected by the membership.

2. The powers of the board executive committee (Art. IV. Section 9) to transact business between board meetings was upheld by amending the section to delete the requirement for board ratification of executive committee actions.

3. Requirements for notice of membership meetings (Art. VI. Section 3) were clarified to indicate that meeting notice be mailed not more than 60 days and no less than 10 days prior to a meeting.

4. An additional responsibility was added to those of the Professional Issues Steering Committee (Art. VIII. Section 6) to support professional advocacy activities.

The AzNA Bylaws as amended will be printed in their entirety in the January issue of the Arizona Nurse.
