This year during the Nurses Legislative Day special recognition was given to four legislators who have been instrumental in shaping effective health care legislation. Two representatives, both nurses, received appreciation plaques during Legislative Day events. They were Representative Herschella Horton and Representative Lou Ann Preble.
Representative Susan Gerard, chair of the House Health Committee and Senator Ann Day, Senate Majority Whip and former Chair of the Senate Health Committee, were unable to attend the event.
