A small town boy realizes dream of being a nurse

Arizona Nurse, May 2003

After growing up in the small town of Duncan in eastern Arizona, I attended Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, where I earned an Associate's Degree in Nursing. While in school, I met and married my lovely wife, Becky, who is also a nurse. I served as President of the Student Nurses Association of Arizona which provided the opportunity to develop leadership skills and to network with colleagues from around our great state. The biggest accomplishment as a member of the SNAAz board was the planning and implementation of the State Convention for student nurses.

My future plans include earning my BSN and MS and moving to a rural community with my wife and child that is due this summer.

Becky and I love being nurses and we hope to continue experiencing the joy that this profession brings us.
