Forty-four year member follows advice she was given on graduation day in 1958

Arizona Nurse, May 2003

Vicki Roach, RN

On graduation day from Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing, in August of 1958, the prospective registered nurses were given a long blue dress, starched cuffs, a triangle bib that had to be folded into perfect pleats, probie cap and the advice to join our professional nurses association. That was over 44 years ago and I have been a member ever since-first in Michigan and now in Arizona. Currently I work at the Havasu Regional Medical Center Home Health Agency as a Case Manager.

My philosophy has always been to care for patients and each other as professionals. Professional integrity, compassion, trust, and respect are the components of a successful role model. In today's health care setting, we need to be resilient in an effort to be effective healthcare providers and at the same time take care of each other.
