Shirley Stinson receives Alberta Order of Excellence Award

Dr. Shirley Stinson, an influential nursing educator, received the province's highest award at a formal ceremony at Government House Oct. 21. Stinson shares the honor with former Alberta Premier Don Getty and aviation and agricultural museum founder Stan Reynolds.

Stinson is recognized for her visionary work in promoting research and advancing nursing education in the province, Canada and throughout the world.

The Order of Excellence was established in 1979 to recognize Alberta citizens who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to public life.
