The Professional Conduct Committee made a finding of unskilled practice and professional misconduct against J.L. member #44,996 who failed to perform adequate physical assessments on a postpartum patient; failed to follow employer's protocols for care of mom and babe as a dyad; failed to properly perform, communicate or chart the results of a non-stress test on an antepartum patient; documented a fabricated blood pressure; requested that another staff member not report one error. The Professional Conduct Committee gave the member a reprimand; prohibited her from working as an RN until she has taken and provided proof that she has passed the entire Nursing Refresher Program; required her to write a paper on nursing ethics and pay a fine of $500 for falsifying the patient record. This was the second time this member has been sanctioned by the Professional Conduct Committee.
