Outside board directors announced
Information Management Journal, May/Jun 2003
Terrence J. Coan, CRM, chair of ARMA International's Outside Director Search Comm-ittee, announces the appointment of William S. Gaskill as outside director on the ARMA Board of Directors for the term of July 1, 2003-June 30, 2004. An outside director is someone chosen from outside of the ARMA membership as a way to bring a different perspective to board discussions.
As Director of Administration for Jones Day, a 2,000-attorney law firm with 27 offices worldwide, Gaskill will bring to the ARMA board a unique perspective on international issues combined with strong operational skills. Gaskill was nominated by an ARMA member and, based on his completed application and follow-up interview, was approved unanimously by the board.
In addition to the newly appointed Gaskill, James Long will begin his third and final term as an outside director beginning July 1. Outside directors are selected to serve a one-year term of office with the possibility of up to two additional one-year term reappointments.
The ARMA Inter-national Board of Directors first appointed outside directors in 2001.
