O'Neil Releases RS-SQL 2.07
The upgraded version of O'Neil Software's RS-SQL allows users to scan or read a greater variety of barcode symbols and offers new reporting capabilities. RS-SQL 2.07 also introduces the Symbol PPT8846, a wireless scanner that enables records center personnel to capture data effectively and affordably.

Open Text Introduces E-mail Management Platform
Open Text Corp. announces a suite of e-mail management solutions offering tight integration of e-mail archiving, records management, and search capabilities. The solutions include Livelink e-mail Archiving, providing an e-mail archiving infrastructure for organizations requiring lower storage costs; Livelink e-mail Monitoring, offering search and discovery across the organization's entire chain of e-mail communication; and Livelink e-mail Management, allowing users to set specific retention and disposition policies to e-mails and manage them as corporate records. The new offerings provide a platform for e-mail management integrating classification, indexing, and search capabilities, among others, and are designed to work with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes.

GP Software Announces Directory Opus 8.0
The Opus 8.0 file management program offers a complete replacement for Windows Explorer as well as other utility programs used for handling ZIP files, FTP, viewing images, and more. It features a user-friendly, fully configurable interface within which users can access and manage important data. New features include enhanced toolbar functionality, image conversion, image viewer enhancements, enhanced FTP, visual synchronization for files and folders, duplicate file finder, dual folder trees, fully customizable Styles tab bar, and an SMTP mailer for sending files directly from the program.

DocuLex Offers Goby Capture Version 2.3
DocuLex's Goby Capture 2.3 incorporates two-dimensional bar coding for document profile capture and content indexing and direct export capability to Ricoh DocumentMall, a hosted, Web-based, secure-access outsourced document storage and management system. Goby Capture allows documents to be scanned, indexed, and organized electronically, then forwarded to the user's desktop and to the document management system. Additional features include the ability to select previously entered values, save, delete, and recall field property forms, merge print field data, and add caption fields.

CalDocs Software Supports New Forms
CalDocs' Health Services version of its Satellite Scan Station (SSS) software will add support for medical forms including UB-92, HCFA 1450, CMS 1500 billing forms. Also, a customized clinical cover sheet for patient clinical file jackets can be used, and proprietary forms are available upon request. The Health Services version is designed to provide all the tools necessary for the administrator or records center manager to convert medical billing and clinical reports to easily searchable electronic images. SSS is designed to read specific areas on the supported forms to ensure a 98 percent acceptance rate for most fields.

Conquer Information Overload with Ultra Recall
Kinook Software's version 1.0 of Ultra Recall, personal information management software for Microsoft Windows, helps computer users easily capture, organize, and recall all of their electronic documents and information. Ultra Recall includes an integrated Web browser, rich text editor, image viewer, e-mail message viewer, and contact editor, and it also provides the ability to easily view or edit captured Web pages and documents in the default browser or associated application.

Vasont Content Management System Integrates with Word
Users now can access and store content in Vasont Content Management Systems directly from Microsoft Word 2003's interface. Using the Vasont Universal Integrator extension, users can mix-and-match Microsoft Word content with extensible markup language (XML) content already stored in Vasont to create new documents and convert Word-authored documents to XML for use across an enterprise, while maintaining a link to the source document.
