The following are the nominations for the 2003 KSNA Ballot, as selected by the KSNA Nominating Committee and Council on E&GW Nominating Committee. Statement of Belief:
"Building the future of Nursing together." When heard these words I thought of the work of our professional organization. As a member of KSNA I believe that we are key players in molding the future of nursing. ANA/KSNA have been instrumental in obtaining funds for nurse training programs both on the state and federal levels. They research and continuously lobby for safe working conditions for ALL nurses and they are leaders in advocating for safe patient care practices.
I am proud to be an RN, proud to be a member of KSNA and as a member I hope to be able to help continue the great work of "building the future of nursing."

Statement of Belief:
A nursing career can follow many different paths today. Nurses are a vital resource in many traditional settings-hospitals, home health, medical offices, schools and nursing homes. But nurses are also playing other roles such as consultants, managers, salesman, teachers, etc. This is exciting and important for nursing as we move into the future. Kansas nurses need strong leaders who will listen to their concerns, provide support, education and advocacy. They need leaders through KSNA and other organizations that will help find innovative and creative solutions for today's issues. I would like to provide that leadership to Kansas nurses.
