New Kansas Board of Nursing Members

Tamara Hutchison B.S.N., R.N. from Quinter was reappointed and Jane Conroy, MS, NP-C, ARNPfrom Emporia was appointed to the Board. Both will serve a four year term, through June of 2009. Tamara has served the past four years on the Board and chaired the Practice Committee; she is the Director of Nursing at Gove County Medical Center. Jane is a newly appointed Board member, but served previously on the Board for a four year term from 1996-2000. Jane is a nurse practitioner and works in the emergency room at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita. The Governor also appointed a new LPN, Janet Jacobs from Derby, and filled a public member vacancy, that is over a year old, with Janice McCart, from Colby. Janice is the Hospital Administrator of Citizens Medical Center, and her appointment expires in three years, June 30, 2008.

Nomination Sought for RN Educator to Serve on Board of Nursing

One RN Educator position on the BON will be up for appointment July 1, 2006. Karen Gilpin has served for eight years and is not eligible for reappointment. This appointment is for four years. Registered nurses interested in this position must go through the KSNA interview process in order to be considered for one of at least three names submitted on behalf of the association (KSNA) to the Governor. The formal interview process will be held in May 2006.

Registered nurses should send letters of interest and resumes to KSNA by April 30, 2006.
