The National Center for Adoption Law and Policy at Capital University Law School, Columbus, Ohio, sponsors this adoption-law resource. Searchable by state and topic, the site features adoption news, statutes, regulations and case studies. "Now anybody can find out about who must consent to an adoption, when parental rights can be involuntarily terminated by a court, or what the rules are for stepparent adoptions," says Kent Markus, director of the center at the ELCA university.
This site, promoted as an aid for pastors and counselors, identifies situations that make people more likely to commit suicide. Although neither deep nor broad, the site contains information on how to get free, immediate phone counseling for someone considering suicide. It also provides questions a counselor or friend can ask a potential victim to help them reconsider.
