Teach the faith and others' religions

Lutheran, The, Oct 2004

Of course parents take their children to Sunday school to learn about their faith-but nearly 70 percent also want the youth to learn about the religions of others, in classes at their church or synagogue. That's the finding of a survey by Harris Interactive for ReachingCommonGround.com, a non-profit group started this year. Half of respondents reported they already teach their children to respect other religions.

Nearly 70 percent also said religious differences are the biggest hurdle to achieving global peace.

Promoting interreligious understanding is the purpose of the survey's sponsor, and complete results are posted at www.ReachingCommon Ground.com.
