CSX executive fleet dwindles

Chesapeake and Ohio Historical Magazine,  Sep 2000

The remaining two F-units on the CSX roster were recently retired. FP7A 418 and F7B 419 were allotted numbers 9995 and 9994 respectively but have never been renumbered. Currently they continue to languish at the Huntington Locomotive Shops, still wearing "Potomac Eagle" lettering from their last assignment.

Also retired were the ex-Conrail E-units, 4021 and 4022. These units were also allotted new numbers on the CSX roster, 9990 and 9991 respectively. They too were never renumbered and remain stored in Huntington. Norfolk Southern is reportedly disposing of the E-unit they inherited from Conrail also.

This leaves leased Amtrak F40PH's 9992 and 9993 (classed FE7A by CSX) as the sole power dedicated to executive service.
