Americans United moves national office to Capitol Hill
Church & State, Sep 1999
To accommodate its growing staff and increased activities, Americans United moved its national office to a larger building on Capitol Hill last month.
Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United, said the organization has grown in the past few years and needed a new home to accommodate the increased size of the professional staff. The old location, in Washington's Dupont Circle neighborhood, had become too crowded.
Lynn pointed out that the new location also gives Americans United much-needed storage space and room for further staff expansion. He thanked all of Americans United's members for helping the organization grow and take on new challenges in the past few years.
Lynn and Americans United staffers worked with Washington real estate agents for more than a year to find a suitable property at a competitive price. Lynn said he is confident that the four-story, brick building will serve Americans United for many years to come. (The old location at Jefferson Place has already been sold.)
Americans United's new address is: 518 C St. N.E., Washington, D.C. 20002. Americans United's phone number has not changed. It is still (202) 466-3234. In addition, you can visit Americans United online at www.au.org and send e-mail to: americansunited@au.org.
