Utilities for Viewpointe Image Archive

Financial document imaging solutions provider CheckWorks (www.checkworksinc.com) has announced two utilities for banks that use the Viewpointe National Check Image Archive. Batch Retrieval is a utility that works as middleware between an application that needs large groups of archived images and the Viewpointe Media Manager archive portal. Batch Store is a related utility that also works as middleware between an application that needs to store a group of images and the CheckWorks ImageExplorer/Enterprise product.

CheckWorks has implemented both utilities into production at the first site: SunTrust Bank in Atlanta.

According to Paul Edmisten, VP, enterprise project manager at SunTrust, Batch Retrieval has enabled SunTrust to improve operational efficiencies and upgrade from paper-based processes to an image-based process. "The batch retrieval and batch store components have enabled SunTrust to replace manual paper-based processes with an automated technical solution, therefore, improving the overall turnaround time and method in which we present image requests," said Edmisten.

"The availability of both Batch Retrieval and Batch Store reflects a sophistication in document imaging that we haven't seen before in the industry," said Brian Heiss, co-founder and CTO of CheckWorks. "Not only can the viewer be used for multiple image objects such as statements and checks, it can also be easily interfaced to other applications within the financial institution."
