Check 21 Spurs Collaboration
Today, Dec 2004
TFP (Thomson Financial Publishing - www.thomson.com), and Zions First National Bank (www.zionsbank.com), have agreed to co-market Zions' electronic cash letter clearing products. One of these products - "eTranscheque" outside of the U.S. - will allow international customers to transmit check images to Zions Bank for deposit. The product allows banks to clear checks electronically and avoid the cost of physically transporting items to U.S. banks for presentment.
"We are excited to provide this check clearing opportunity to our customers at a reasonable cost", said Glenn Gottfried, TFP president. "The Zions partnership opens the door to an unprecedented potential for our client banks to improve the speed with which checks, deposited by their customers, can be cleared."
"This relationship will allow bankers to clear all of their checks into a single account at Zions, and help them to eliminate courier costs and legal expenses", said Scott Anderson, Zions president.
