Job Titles

I would appreciate your sharing your job titles with me. My Human Resources department is having trouble benchmarking my remittance processing operator positions to comparable jobs in the industry because they can't find matches using my job title of Remittance Processing Operator. My company is a large multi-line insurance company. These jobs have responsibility for processing payments for all lines of insurance which involves understanding and applying unique processing rules for those lines of business. We operate a two pass image system for wholetail exception type work and a use a single pass workstation process for retail payments. This position involves all aspects of operating and maintaining remittance transports, balancing manual runs, deposit preparation, analysis and resolution of out of balancing conditions, etc. I am particularly interested in feedback from insurance companies, but would also be interested in job titles from anyone doing in-house remittance processing.

Re: Job Titles

Imaging Specialists I, II, and III. We are an Item Processing shop that works with transports, imaging and balancing transactions.

Re: Job Titles

We are an electric utility, item processing shop (non-image). The job title is Key Data Operator. This is a fairly old job title, and the three that are my staff are the only ones left in the company. Most of their job responsibilities sound very similar to yours.

Tel Transaction

Our company would like to offer "TEL" transaction to our customers. We have a few questions on the process and would appreciate any information:

* Are there separate requirements for processing ACH transactions vs. one time check by phone/EFT transactions?

* Do these transactions need to be sent on separate feeds for processing, or can they be sent on the same file as long as they are identified by transaction type?

* Do EFT transactions get held for a few days prior to processing?

* What information needs to be present on the confirmation letter to the customer for EFT transactions?

* Are there any specific requirements for displaying information to customers concerning charges or time frame associated with EFT or return checks? In other words, if a fee is going to be charged for EFT, for return checks, or for a credit card transaction, does the customer need to be notified prior to the change, on the same bill as the charge, or not at all?
