FileNet and HP Expand Collaboration

Today, Aug 2005

Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solution provider FileNet (www.filenet.com) has expanded its relationship with Hewlett-Packard (HP www.hp.com). The announcement, made at the recent AIIM Conference, covers several areas:

* Information Lifecycle Management: FileNet has become a member of HP's Information Lifecycle Management Alliance Program. Through this program, FileNet will extend its existing integration with HP storage technologies, including HP's Reference Information Storage System (RISS), and will collaborate with HP on initiatives such as Information Lifecycle Management (ILM).

* Imaging Technology Integration: As a member of FileNet's ValueNet Partner Program, HP has developed integration capabilities with FileNet Capture technology to enable digital communication with multi-function printers (MFP) and standalone digital senders. This integration allows digital-send enabled devices to scan and import a document into the FileNet system as part of the document capture process. In addition, the integration allows FileNet and HP to develop and deliver an end-to-end solution that allows customers to convert paper documents to a digital format for automated processing and management.

* HP Consulting & Integration: FileNet and HP plan to extend their existing regional consulting and integration relationship to offer enterprise content management (ECM) solutions targeted toward specific vertical markets.

According to Martyn Christian, chief marketing officer at FileNet, the collaboration spans software, storage, imaging, professional services and hardware. "This offers our common customers real ROI and productivity enhancement across the entire information management spectrum," he said. "Together, FileNet and HP are working to deliver to customers the improved business agility that is needed in order to compete in today's demanding business environments."
