Help NASA Reach its Vision

NASA Tech Briefs, Jul 2004

NASA has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for Concept Evaluation and Refinement that is designed to combine the best design and programmatic inputs from government and commercial industry to support the President's Vision for Space Exploration.

The scope of the BAA includes preliminary concepts for human lunar exploration, including recommendations for the scientific, economic, and security objectives of lunar exploration, and concepts for the Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) such as functionality, support systems, mass, and proposed launch systems.

Proposals will be evaluated based on their relevance to NASA objectives, their technical merit, and the cost involved. Proposals submitted for the BAA are due by July 16, and contract awards will be announced no later than September 1. All proposals must be submitted through the Web.
