GM also joined with BMW, Honda, and Toyota to develop standards for Top Tier Detergent Gasoline, a new class of gasoline with enhanced detergency that exceeds the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements. The Top Tier program began last year, when Chevron, QuikTrip, ConocoPhillips, Shell, and Entec Stations began offering the gasoline.
