NP is a "hero" to Letterman

Nurse Practitioner, Apr 2000

On the night he returned to his television show after cardiac bypass surgery, David Letterman introduced the nurse and nurse practitioner who cared for him as "the real heroes of medicine." Donna Reilly, RN, CFNP, MS, and Anna Williams, RN, who work at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, helped Letterman with his recovery.

Assembling his health care team on stage, Letterman remarked that "it was 5 weeks ago today that these men and women saved my life. But that's not the big deal. The big deal is that they do it several times a day and hundreds of times a year." As he thanked the team, he singled out Reilly as "smart, funny, and patient" and gave Williams a hug.
