Preparing for Y2K at Springhouse Corporation

Advances in Wound Care,  Nov/Dec 1999  by Sherlock, Michael

SUPPOSE YOU WERE LISTENING TO THE RADIO AND YOU HEARD A warning about a hurricane heading toward your area. No one can predict where it will hit or what damage, if any, it will cause. What would you do? Well, if you were like us, you would take precautions ahead of time to protect your family and property.

In early 1997, Springhouse Corporation (publisher of Advances in Wound Care) began responding to warnings about an approaching "storm" called "The Year 2000 problem." Our mission was simple: It is our responsibility to take all reasonable precautions to ensure that Springhouse Corporation continues with business as usual before, during, and after the millennium period.

We depend on many business partners to help us create our products, including this journal. Subscription services, printing, and delivery of our journals are handled by these partners. We have been working closely with them to ensure that they, too, will be ready to keep things moving during the millennium period.

It is our intention that you will receive the same high-quality journal you expect to receive, when you expect to receive it. We do not know if mail delivery will be normal around the millennium period. There are many factors that could affect delivery, and we will not have control over them. At this point, however, we see little reason to worry about major disruptions.

If you have a problem with your Advances in Wound Care subscription, you may call 1-800-950-0879. If there is a problem, we will do everything possible to fix it.

We wish you a very happy new year! M

Michael Sherlock is the Publishing Technology Manager for Springhouse Corporation, publisher of Advances in Wound Care.
