Friday, May 3: Why Collect?

Ralph and Terry Kovel come to Pittsburgh to present the talk Why Collect? In support of the museum's current exhibition, Possession Obsession: Objects from Andy Warhol's Personal Collection, the Kovels will demonstrate their expertise in the fields of antiques and collectibles. The pair have published 85 books, including price guides, and are hosts of the weekly cable show "Flea Market Finds with the Kovels" on HGTV. Why Collect? begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Friday, May 10: Emergency Culture Series

The focus shifts from the old to the ultra-contemporary with performances by Adult. and Daniel Wang. A duo from Detroit, Adult. mixes electronic beats with New Wave vocals, video, and fashion. Also a creator of electronic sounds, New York City's Daniel Wang is a gay electronic dance music composer. The event, billed as the Emergency Culture Series, begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.

Friday, May 17: Fotopoulos to introduce new film, Christabel

The latest feature by young Chicago-based filmmaker James Fotopoulos, Christabel, will receive its Pittsburgh premiere in

The Andy Warhol Museum Theater on Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. The filmmaker will be present to discuss his work and take questions from the audience. Consumed 1-5 (2001, 21 minutes, 16mm) precedes Christabel. Tickets for the program are $5.

This unique exhibition premiered at The Andy Warhol Museum and will soon travel to the Rhode Island School of Design. Its development in Pittsburgh has been made possible by the generous support of many individuals and organizations.

The LP Show will feature more than 2,500 album covers from 1940 to the present. Off Guard: The Photographs of Ron Galella is the first retrospective of this infamous paparazzi's work.
