2004 TOOL TOUR INCLUDES SWITZERLAND, ITALY AND ENGLAND
Chronicle of the Early American Industries Association, Inc., The, Jan/Feb 2004
The 2004 Tool Tour will set out for Italy on September 13 and end in London on September 26. The exact details of the tour are still in the working out as this goes to press, but we contemplate visiting several cities and towns in northern Italy, seeing some excellent museums including the Museum of the History of Science in Florence, the Joiners Museum in Bergamo, and some of the wonderful archaeological museums with ancient Roman tools.
Our two members in that region, Luigi Nessi and Riccardo Chetoni, are helping with suggestions based on their knowledge of tool museums, collections, and relevant sites, and we hope very much to include a visit to the fabulous Nessi collection, which must be one of the greatest of all private tool collections. By the time you receive this notice, the details of the itinerary should be in final form and may be received by sending in the card included in this issue. We will also post it on the EAIA Web site as soon as possible (www.EAIAinfo.org).
