2004 SILENT AUCTION RAISES $3,916
Chronicle of the Early American Industries Association, Inc., The, Jul/Aug 2004 by Hathaway, Pete
A new record was set this year at the 2004 Annual Meeting's Silent Auction headed by James Macallum and his team of volunteers including Bill McMillen, Bob Kozakiewicz, Harry and Pat Audley, and Win and Florence Bigelow.
The auction is now completely made up of donations from our members so all proceeds go to EAIA. This year we raised $3,916 which made it one of our top fund raisers. Among the items included in the auction were books, early braces, planes, large turnscrews, garden tools, levels, a food chopper, and a cherry bowl, handmade by our President, David Parke.
A most interesting item was a toolbox containing a large number of nice, clean, usable tools that was donated by Hal Logan (see photo). Hal gathered the tools at various garage and estate sales and flea markets throughout the past year for less than $100. The auction team divided it up into fifteen lots which brought in $659 for EAIA. What a great idea!
Our thanks to Jim Macallum and his volunteers along with all of the members who donated items and time to make this auction such a success. The EAIA benefited greatly and we all had a great time.
