Connecticut: Sexual assaults rise for all adolescents

The Connecticut Department of Children and Families said sexual assaults by the very young are occurring in every socioeconomic group and community.

Officials said 21 percent of juveniles accused of sexual abuse in Southern Connecticut last year were under age 13.

One of the biggest problems in assessing sex assault trends for children younger than 13 is that no agency keeps statewide statistics.
