Veeder-Root Launches New Fuel Management Service for Petroleum Storage Tank Owners

Oil Can, The, Nov/Dec 2000

Simsbury, Conn. - VeederRoot announces the launch of its new Fuel Management Service designed to help petroleum marketers increase controls and eliminate problems associated with fuel inventory management, environmental compliance reporting and fuel delivery scheduling. The service works with any brand of automatic tank gauging (ATG) equipment and with inventory reading obtained from manual sticks. The new Fuel Management Service is available immediately.

Veeder-Root is also launching MyVeeder, and Internet reporting component of the new service. Customers can access current and historical site data via the web and track results by site, region or trend. Each customer can design their own customized fuel management reports to track performance according to their own internal measures.

The new service is made possible in part by VeederRoot's recent acquisition of Ustman Technologies. It includes components if both Veeder-Root's Simplicity service and Ustman's services, along with several improvements made possible by the companies' technological and human resources. The new service incorporates Ustman's voice recognition technology which captures voice data via phone and records it to a computer, with Veeder-Root's Internet reporting capabilities to deliver consolidated reports for a customer's entire network. With data collection choices and multiple methods to report the raw data to Veeder-Root for analysis, customers finally have a total network solution for all sites, with or without tank gauges. No equipment investment required to enroll equals no start up delays for receiving service.

Veeder, headquartered in Simsbury, Connecticut, manufactures petroleum equipment that is being used to monitor more than 500,000 underground petroleum storage tanks at retail sites around the world. The company currently has over 100,000 storage tanks enrolled in it s services. VeederRoot's product and service solutions are engineered to meet the fuel management needs of downstream petroleum industry customers.
