Indigo Software and Aquanta Networks announce partnership

Customer Inter@ction Solutions, May 2003

Indigo Software, which offers SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) -based instant communication solutions, and Aquanta Networks, a provider of dataflow management for communication services, have announced their mutual commitment to a new partnership. The alliance is geared towards integrating SIP-based IM (instant messaging) and VoIP (voice over IP) in "Calligator," a communication portal operated by Aquanta Networks.

Calligator is a unified communications portal based on Microsoft .NET technology. A Web service connecting people across different systems and devices, Calligator works transparently with the existing communication infrastructure within a company (PBX, phones, e-mail systems, etc.) or at home. By using a dedicated phone number which supports unified messaging, it allows users to make phone calls and send faxes directly from within MS Outlook, for example. Calligator also offers presence management and instant messaging (IM), as developed by Indigo Software in their integrated IP communications suite. The resulting solution was designed to realize the full blend of IM with telephony, voice mail, e-mail, fax and SMS in a communication portal using users' presence information, as all likely communication streams can be intelligently routed to the best-suited destination, in accordance with user preferences. Accordingly, the Aquanta-Indigo co-developed product can help increase productivity and can be integrated in almost any IT environment within a short time frame.
