AAACN Standards Review Task Force Update

AAACN Viewpoint,  May/Jun 2005

The AAACN Standards Review Task Force has formed and begun its work. The Task Force is composed of two groups: the Ambulatory Care Nursing Administration and Practice Standards review group chaired by Peg Mastal and the Telehealth Nursing Practice, Administration, and Practice Standards review group chaired by Sherry Smith. The purpose of the Task Force is to assure a thorough, appropriate, and professional review and revision of both sets of standards, and to assure the standards reflect the mission and vision of AAACN as the voice of ambulatory care nursing as well as the most current standards appropriate for today's practice areas. The goal of the Task Force is to have a revised set of standards ready for the 32nd Annual Conference in 2007.

The AAACN Board of Directors would like to thank the following members for their willingness to volunteer to complete this very important task.

Peg Mastal, Carol Andrews, Deb Haagenson, Janet Moye, Cynthia O'Brein, Deborah Atsberger, Ann Wiborg, Dianne Mathews, Barbara Miller, Bonnie Allbaugh, and Gay Bailey. Karen Griffin is the Board Liaison for this group.

Telehealth Nursing Practice and Administration Standards Review Group

Sherry Smith, Maureen Espensen, Carol Rutenberg, Melissa Kwitten, and Sheryl Valentine. Carole Becker is the Board Liaison for the telehealth group.
