Health design show at Arab Health 2004

A stand-alone show entitled Hospital Design and Interiors (HDI) will debut at Arab Health 2004, which runs at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) from January 18-21. HDI is aimed at bringing care providers and Healthcare executives from the public and private sectors together with facility planners and managers, designers, architects and contractors, within a forum showcasing the most progressive elements in healthcare design. The organiser is IIR Exhibitions and Conferences, and signed-up exhibitors include leading furniture maker Herman Miller International. GREEN GIANT:

Contractor Skanska is using eye-catching copper cladding for the new clinical sciences teaching facility being constructed in Coventry. It forms part of its L359m design and build PFI hospital in Coventry that replaces Walsgrave Hospital. On completion later this year, the unit will function as a medical school for Warwick University. Skanska has completed a third of the hospital's 1212-bed acute building and it is due to finish in 2006.
