Bordering on art
HD, Feb 2005
Armstrong Floor Products' recently launched linoleum collection includes a new range of eye-catching borders and inlays.
Supplied in ready-made formats, the borders and inlays feature a range of patterns and pictures. They can add interest and dynamism to a range of applications. Each design can be colour-coordinated or matched to the individual installation, and to suit individual areas' performance requirements.
The "modern" borders come in 100 cm x 15 cm strips with matching 15 cm x 15 cm corners in a variety of patterns including "retro" interlinking squares, 1960s-inspired flowers and geometric circles and lines. The "classic" styled borders, which are available in 100 cm x 15 cm and 100 x 10 cm strips, feature more traditional ivy, wave, square and train track patterns.
In terms of inlays, varieties available within the modern range include zebra pattern, colourful stripes and an interlocking maze design. Traditional square and circle inlays are available, also featuring "abstract blooms and compasses."
The range of standard pictorial designs incorporates animals, numbers and insects as well as vehicles, and they are ideal for children's wards, says Armstrong. Each of the designs is supplied as a ready-made 60 cm x 60 cm tile for easy installation.
