This years IFSEC is returning to the NEC in Birmingham from May 16-19 with the promise of 600 exhibitors.

LAST YEAR'S IFSEC LAUNCHED THE Network Advantage feature to showcase the growing field of Internet Protocol (IP) and networks technology. According to the independent research commissioned by event organiser CMPi, 79% of visitors attending the event rated the Network Advantage feature as a "very useful" attraction.

Organisers of this year's event draw attention to the fact that IP and networks technology is doing much to revolutionise how businesses operate and that it's not just the more blue-chip businesses and organisations that can reap the benefits. All types of multi-site organisations are reported to be making the technology jump, particularly those in the public sector. They also point out that even Westminster City Council, one of central London's most prestigious boroughs has already taken huge steps to develop their IP. Organisers also state that the councils "wireless city" represents a benchmark that should revolutionise the way in which the council conducts its business.

CMPi is planning to build on the Network Advantage concept featured in last year's show for the 2005 event with a variety of new partnerships in store. Richard Clarke, IFSEC event director said: "We're delighted with the waves that Network Advantage has already made in the industry. With the IFSEC brand as a backdrop, we're in no doubt that Network Advantage 2005 will provide companies with the mass of visitors they need."
