The Lamp lighting & Pledging ceremony of the 7th batch of General Nursing students of Alva's Institute of Nursing Science, Moodbidri was held on 16.01.2002.

Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D. Souza (Bishop of Mangalore) graced the occasion. The Chief guest was Mrs. Malini N. Hebbar, MA. M. Phil, Reader in English, (St. Agnes College, Mangalore). Other dignitaries present were, Dr. M. Mohan Alva (Chairman. Alva's Education Foundation) Mrs. Malita V. Monis (Principal, Alva's Institute of Nursing Science) aid the Trustees. Mr. & Mrs. Amarnath Shetty.

Dr. M. Mohan Alva (Chairman, Alva's Education Foundation) rendered the welcome speech. The honourable Chief guest inaugurated the Lamp lighting & Pledging ceremony.

Mrs. Malini N. Hebbar addressed the gathering with her inspiring & intelligent speech & stressed the importance of this profession in care of the sick.

The proficiency prizes were distributed to the students who had secured highest marks in P.T.S. Examination. Mr. Binu J. Mathew proposed vote of thanks.
