Graduation ceremony

P.S.G. College of Nursing, Peelamedu, Coimbatore held the convocation of IV Batch B.Sc. Nursing graduates on 5th October 2002. 47 graduates received their degrees from Chief Guest Sri N. Muruganandam (IAS), Honourable District Collector of Coimbatore. "Service to sick and poor fellow beings is service to God, and Nurses are privileged to have this opportunity", said Sri N. Muruganandam.

Professor Mrs. Bimla Kapoor, President, Delhi Nursing Council and Programme Coordinator, Indira Gandhi National Open University, was the Guest of Honour in the ceremony. She delivered the convocation address. While addressing the gathering, she said that the discipline of nursing calls upon the young graduates to advance nursing's body of knowledge through research and to uplift the standards of nursing to call it an independent profession.

Professor B. Leelamma, Principal, P.S.G. College of Nursing, read the annual report of the College and gave away the message to graduates. She addressed the nursing fraternity gathered over there that globalization is a serious issue confronted by all disciplines. "The product of any enterprise should have the international standards to survive in the market. So as fresh graduates, keeping oneself updated with advancing medical technology would be the only way to survive in international nursing market", she said.

Professor S. Vijayarangan, Principal, PSG College of Technology felicitated the graduates. Certificates and medals were awarded to the meritorious candidates. Ms. Vijayalakshmi G.V. was awarded the gold medal for the Best Outgoing Graduate. Ms. G. Sukumari won the Best Clinical Nurse Award and Ms. Anbarasi K received the Best Academic Achiever Award.
