Journal of Information Systems Education, Winter 2003

I hope that you had a great break between semesters. We are starting a new year and with it comes the last issue in Volume 14 of the Journal of information Systems Education (JISE). I hope that you have noticed the new look of JISE in the printed form and in the web site. Please check out the new web site at http://jise. appstate.edu. We are working hard to get all of the articles that appeared in past issues of JISE on the web site. This has turned into a massive job, but we are making progress. I welcome comments about the new look of the journal and of the web site.

The mission of the Journal of Information Systems Education QISE) is to be the premier journal on information systems (IS) education. To support that mission, JISE emphasizes quality and relevance in the papers that it publishes. In addition, JISE recognizes the international influences on IS education and seeks international input in all aspects of the journal, including content, authorship of papers, readership, paper reviewers, and Editorial Board membership.

To accomplish this mission, JISE continually seeks original articles of special interest to IS educators. Submissions should generally cover one of the following topics: teaching tips; innovative classroom practices; IS curriculum issues; research in 15 education; cases for use in an IS classroom; pedagogy in teaching IS subjects; teaching assessment; industry relations; or other related topics in IS education. Potential authors should review the Guide for Initial Submission of Manuscripts on page 435 and submit your manuscripts to the editor (mailto:jise@appstate.edu).

Finally, we continue to experienced an increase in the number of submissions to JISE. As a result, we are constantly looking for individuals interested in becoming a reviewer for JISE. Potential reviewers should send a self-nomination to the editor at mailto:iise@appstate.edu. We are looking for reviewers that can be responsive and provide good reviews to papers that have been submitted. Reviewers are acknowledged by name and school affiliation in Issue 4 of each volume (see page 419 of this issue for the Reviewer Acknowledgement for Volume 14). Reviewers may also be asked to be part of the Editorial Board after they have established a positive record of reviewing.
