Strategic Alliance to Provide Best-in-Class XML Business Documents Solution
International Journal of Micrographics & Optical Technology, 2004
RenderX, Inc., claimed to be "the first company in the world to roll out a Java-based, commercial grade XML rendering engine" and Assentis Technologies AG, a market leader in personalized, XML-based business documents solutions, have announced their agreement to enter into a strategic alliance. The companies believe that their combined solution "creates the only comprehensive tool for high-quality design of XSL for dynamic documents".
Under the terms of the alliance, Assentis will include RenderX's flagship product XEP into their professional document solutions - Assentis:WebText, Assentis:DocBase and Assentis: Cockpit. Cockpit, a technically advanced XSL FO document engineering solution, will integrate seamlessly with XEP and support its powerful XSL FO extensions. The application was beta tested at several Global 1000 financial service customer locations to ensure it would meet the needs of the industry.
"XEP is the best and most reliable XSL FO formatter available on the market today," said Urs Tanner, CEO of Assentis Technologies. "After conducting an extensive evaluation last summer, we came to the conclusion that only RenderX products can fulfill our requirements. By collaborating with them, we can provide even better performance and scalability on Assentis platforms for our customers. Together, Assentis and RenderX can provide rapid and comprehensive solutions, allowing customers to increase operational efficiencies and improve information flow."
Assentis and RenderX will build a common sales, support, and service organization in the first quarter of 2004. RenderX will be responsible for the joint offering in the United States and Canada. Assentis will cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Both companies' existing customer base will also benefit from special promotions for the combined solution.
"Assentis' world-class expertise and software are perfect compliments to our strategy," said Kevin Brown, vice president of sales and marketing for RenderX. "We have been researching many XSL editors in the market over the past two years and determined that Assentis:Cockpit was definitely the best in class. Our strategic relationship with Assentis will yield flexible and innovative solutions to significantly increase customer satisfaction and loyalty while expanding our Global 1000 customer base. Working together, we will deliver sophisticated and personalized applications faster and at a lower cost, providing companies of all sizes powerful solutions that are based on open standards."
