New Color Network Document Scanner
Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. has announced the introduction of its next-generation network scanner. The new Fujitsu fi-6010N iScanner is said to provide "added simplicity, enhanced security and encryption features, a new network control utility and an upgraded user interface to further assist collaboration across a global network".
"Network scanning has grown in popularity over the last few years as organizations continue to expand their workforce across dispersed networks," said Victor Kan, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Imaging Products Group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "Fujitsu was ahead of the curve in designing our first network scanner and has continued to work closely with our customers to provide features and functionalities that map directly back to their priorities. The newest Fujitsu network scanner incorporates direct feedback from our customers to provide added flexibility to easily and efficiently deliver electronic content across the entire network."
Simplicity, Control, Customization
The fi-6010N iScanner maintains the easy installation process of its predecessor - simply connect the device to the network and enter the network settings based on the user-defined functionality and the device is ready for use - allowing organizations to share documents across a distributed network, while reducing the cost and inconvenience of legacy printing, copying, faxing and overnight shipping.
The latest network scanner features a new web based centralized control utility which allows network administrators to assign scanning profiles to users or groups of users and enables remote delivery of software updates, as well as access usage information to all the scanners in the network. The fi-6010N iScanner also provides organizations the ability to reduce additional onsite technical support by empowering administrators to send updates and change settings to groups of network scanners, rather than having to make adjustments to each individual scanner.
The new Fujitsu scanner is designed to enable easier integration and customization via an enhanced Software Developer Kit (SDK), which utilizes standards based on the Microsoft Windows development platform. The fi-6010N iScanner is the only dedicated network scanner on the market to provide an optional SDK toolkit.
Innovative Design
The Fujitsu fi-6010N iScanner is built with a large 8.4 inch XGA color touch-screen display that allows users to zoom, pan and rotate each scanned image, making indexing and image verification easy. In addition, the new scanner includes an integrated US 101 keyboard, making it easy to quickly key-in information. Complete with a 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF), the fi-6010N iScanner scans in color, grayscale and monochrome at duplex speeds up to 25 ppm / 50 ipm and offers true 600dpi optical resolution. It consistently captures fine details at impressive speeds and competitive costs, all wimin a compact footprint of only 12.4'' x 10.8'' x 15.5''.
