Version One Wins Document Manager Awards 2008
Document management and imaging software author, Version One has beaten off stiff competition to win Email Product of the Year 2008 at the DM (Document Manager) Awards 2008. This is the second year in a row that Version One has been presented with a DM Award in recognition of the company's leading-edge document management products. The awards ceremony took place in London in October.
Version One was presented with the award after its automated delivery software, DbMail, was voted the leading email product by readers of Document Manager Magazine. The DM Awards reward the outstanding document management products, suppliers and projects of the year and the 2008 awards saw in excess of 5000 readers vote for their favourite products and companies.
Lynne Munns, Version One's General Manager said "It's important that both end-users of our products and the document management industry acknowledge the quality, usability and advanced functionality of our software and so we're delighted to gain this recognition. Winning this award is testament to our continued year-on-year investment in the right people and product development whilst ensuring we listen to our customers and respond to their business issues."
Tightly integrated into all major accounting, manufacturing and ERP systems, DbMail is designed to enable organisations to automatically e-mail business documents, such as invoices, statements and contracts directly from their core software systems. Version One says that organisations using DbMail report considerable cost and time savings by cutting pre-printed stationery, postage and administration.

Alliance Expanded to Optimize Dynamic Archive Storage
Mimosa Systems and Data Domain have announced an expanded collaboration in support of the new Mimosa NearPoint Tiered Storage Option (TSO), a new solution said to optimize the trade-off between storage cost and end-user access while keeping up with the growing volumes of archived content. NearPoint TSO and Data Domain should enable companies to take full advantage of data deduplication efficiencies by minimizing the required space and storage capacity required to store long-term archives on disk.
In combination with TSO, customers can leverage Data Domain systems for storing large volumes of archived content. Mimosa TSO provides the ability to provision a dedicated high-speed cache for content that has been recently archived, recently accessed, or has been identified as a business record. In a parallel process, TSO assembles this content into intelligent containers that are optimized for deduplication. These containers are then presented to Data Domain systems for storage and recall based on a TSO policy.
