The Drag Racing Association of Women is seeking donated items for the first of its two annual benefit auctions. to be held Saturday. May 31. at Route 66 Raceway in Chicago. DRAW's second auction will be held in Dallas in October. Though beverages will be available during the auction. a barbecue will not be offered this year. Racing collectibles. vehicle parts, autographed items. memorabilia. custom or handmade items. and the like are perfect for the auction block.
"DRAW desperately needs items for both its live and silent auctions." said DRAY's Rosalee Noble. "This is a good time to do some spring cleaning and find those treasures in disguise' that will be perfect additions to DRAW's 2003 auctions."
Tax-deductible contributions should be clearly marked on both the inside and outside of the package so that the item can be credited property. Items must be shipped to DRAW Auction. c/o Dave Oxley Construction Inc.. 16556 NV. 159th St., Lockport. IL 60441 before May 23 or dropped off at the DRAW booth along the NHRA Manufacturers Midway at national events or at the auction site between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the day of the auction. Due to generous donations from the drag racing community. DRAW has been able to provide financial and emotional support to individuals injured in a drag racing accident at a track. From 1985 through 2002. DRAW has provided $2.165.557 to qualified individuals. In 2002. DR_-kAW provided $229.180 in financial assistance.
